=======   =======     The  Paternal   Line ======    ====   =========

       Family histories can usually be traced back several generations.   We can follow the paternal  line from josh back to the early 1800s with william, a Scottish merchant and elizabeth.    They had ernest, a Scottish chemist, who married nora and had kenzie and cran, a tool engineer.   Cran married iva and raised  diane and brooks in California and Oklahoma. diane is noted below, under great Aunt.  brooks stayed with electronics, married dorie in California and had cathy, leo, mike and matt, and moved to New Mexico.   Matt married kristin in Albuquerque,  had  josh, noah,and megan and moved from Albuerquerque to Bloomfield, New Mexico and now in Maryland, ( eastern North America ).

=====  =======      The Maternal  Line     =======    ===   =========

     Going back up josh's tree on the maternal side, dianna and bob  had   steve (who married bev and had ashley and emily) and kristin (mom) .   Dianna later married darryl and had matt, who is very smart.   Bob married linda and they live in Texas.

=======    =====    Paternal   Grandmother   =====     ====   ======

       David SR and rosemary had dorie, susan, and david.   Rosemary later married john.   Dorie married brooks and had cathy, leo, mike and matt.     Susan married lloyd and had jason,  dorie joan,   and charles.   David martin  married donna  and had deanna, denise, david JR and deborah.

  The  line can be traced back to at least 1847 when johnson married maria  and begat joseph who married mary  and begat charles and harold.  Charles married bessie (nana) and had eldorah, diantha, barbara, david SR and joan.

   Dorie recalls helping nana plant an acre of veggies, strawberries and rubarb and then lots of canning. We also had peach trees and the homemade peach pie was made following nana's recipe.

======   ======  Paternal  Great Grandmother   ====   ======   =======

     A hundred and fifty years ago, David married mary (North Carolina) and had sinkler who married anna  who was raised with her brother jim by wash and molly in Tennessee.  Sinkler and anna  had pearl, ethel(anna) and iva, who married cran.  Pearl married fred  and had alan, while anna married william whitesell.   Iva said she used to be kidded about the shepard name, while being raised on a small farm in Ohio (Lassie go home).  Later her mom married freddie, who worked at the ford motor repair shop.  Brooks remembers visiting the farm in the 50's, anna raising the vegetables and chickens and the freshest of meals cooked on a wood stove which also provided heat for the winters.  Lots of feather comforters, cats, outdoor plumbing except for the hand water pump in the kitchen.  Most modern.

====  ===  Paternal  Great Great Grandmother  =====   =====

     Robert  married kenzie   and settled down in San Diego, California while raising robert, juanita, richard, bruce and donald.  Kenzie also had artistic talents which were probably handed down from her mom, nora.

===  ======  ======= SKELETONS ===  ===   = = =   ========   ====

There are always parts of history that are best left to the genealogist and the historian after folks alive will not be hurt.   I am being reminded that rattling skeletons is not a good idea, but if it were not for the black sheep, there would be no contrast to enjoy the finer moments.  If it was not for for the bounced checks, banks would not be able to afford 'vinnie the arm' and someone's brother - in - law would not have a job.
